Spoonflower was the first company I had a chance to print anything on demand with my own design and keep the copyright ownership. 

 

To see something actually printed with my designs gave me a hope I didn't have before about entering a professional space without having to chose one thing or another just yet. I would have to design in between other life obstacles.

Hutch Rose was the first pattern. 

 

When I began a tiny shop in 2011, and I painted furniture my first signature design became the Hutch Rose pattern. I took an old, vintage dresser  and simply painted some roses on it. The roses on that dresser, photographed then applied to a fabric design made me feel I had accomplished something. I later learned roses symbolized love in the Universe. That made me feel like not matter whether my design took off or not I was sending love into the world.

I have since done other designs, yes I still struggle with the tech stuff but I manage to get a few more designs out with passion and optimism.

I had begun making sample rooms one by one to showcase the applications of my designs, but I struggled then to buy my own fabric and apply it to rooms in which I could then photograph like a set but also actually be used at the same time at our house, our vintage Victorian beauty. 

​

So take a peek at my Spoonflower site it is still a work in progress I suppose just as I am.

While I began with a love of "shabby chic" designs, I have expanded and will be expanding my designs to include many other subjects like nature, mystical, elements, and more.
